Land Base Vision
Our vision is to steward a land base here in North Carolina that is home to our embodied healing work. This place grounds our work in the historical and cultural significance of the South, and both the trauma and resilience of Black and Indigenous communities here. Our work grows from the commitment to healing our relationships to this land, and through our collective embodiment not only in our individual bodies but in the ecosystems and social systems we inhabit and create.
Healing with the Land
Our land base will provide a healing space that allows us to feel our place and purpose within larger systems. To practice being present and listening to the land, and through observation and commitment, to develop our understanding of interdependence and build reciprocal relationship with this place.
The land base will be a place of healing, ritual, and respite. It will be a place to restore lost knowledge of how to sustain ourselves in place, how to grow, prepare, and share our foods and cultures with each other. To redevelop our ability to sense our impact on the systems in which we are embedded, and the reciprocal impact on us, and to renew our ability to be in right relationship with the land and creatures around us. We will practice restoring our relationship to our own labor: justified labor that cares for our bodies, communities, and the land around us.
